Blue ribbon of the sea - complete

Since research on sea and especially deep sea is not nearly as highly developed as it is on e.g. space, kids are fascinated by this in their eyes magical topic.

Our ribbon shines light onto the depth and also darkness of the seas.

Each portion of the ribbon has the correct length to match the real life zones of our oceans.

Either rolled out on the floor or hung up on a window it will have eye-opening effects and lead to excitement around the topic.

The Blue Ribbon displays the different depths of the ocean.

In its entirety it measures 11 m:

• Approx. 30 cm – land
• 20 cm – sunlightzone
• 80 cm – twilightzone
• 300 cm – ocean midnight zone
• 700 cm – the Abyss

The ribbon is made out of fleece which can be rinsed and also comes with a lotus effect to prevent pollution in the first place. It comes on a wooden spool on which it is kept in place safely by Velcro.

The fleece is made in Germany and fulfills the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® - Klasse I.

Due to the slight rigidity of the material there will be no wrinkles upon rolling up.

The set also includes 18 plastic animals contained in a cotton bag:

Sperm whale, whale shark, devil ray, sea horse, clownfish, snorkeler, giant squid, sea lion, dolphin, octopus, jelly fish, black dragonfish, lamp shells, marine hatchet fish, deep sea anglerfish, pelican eel and scale dragonfish

Completing the set is a variety of cards indicating

• Depths and names of the different zones
• Names of all the different animals

As well as a set of control cards showing relevant pictures and names (framed by colour according to zone)
